Competence course on psychedelics
The course's target audience and theme:
This course is a basic course aimed at authorized healthcare personnel who work at various levels within public and private healthcare. This includes doctors, psychologists, nurses, social workers, psychomotor physiotherapists etc. The course can be seen as a basic course that provides an overview of historical and current research on psychedelic substances.
In this course there will be a focus on classic psychedelic substances (LSD, psilocybin, mescaline and DMT). It will also be taught briefly about nearby hallucinogens such as MDMA and Ketamine. There will be an emphasis on updating knowledge related to potential treatment effects, the psychedelic treatment model, the substances' risk factors and harmful effects of recreational use.
In addition, there will be a focus on how a therapist can use this knowledge in meetings with the user group in the form of good harm reduction conversations with an emphasis on equality, autonomy and knowledge.
